Pedestrian footbridge installed over the Altabix railway tracks (Elche)

Last Saturday, January 10, the installation of the new pedestrian footbridge over the railway tracks in Altabix, Elche, was completed, a key intervention to improve mobility and urban connectivity in the area, and it is scheduled to open to the public in mid-February.
The project, awarded by the Elche City Council to Pavasal for an amount of €2.8 million, features a deck 5.5 meters wide and 44 meters long, rising up to 7 meters above the railway alignment to overcome the existing ground level differences.
Access to the footbridge is provided by two ramps from Pintor José Cañizares Street, and at the southern end by a staircase and a ramp, ensuring full accessibility.
FHECOR, in a joint venture (UTE) with Guía Consultores, has been responsible for the design and site supervision of the project, which will connect sectors Altabix-Universidad, contributing to safer, more accessible, and more efficient mobility for citizens.
